Wish come true

What a difference two days makes. On Thursday and Friday B and H were bugging Grandpa and Grandma to take them sledding even though we had barely a dusting of the white stuff. As you will see, G and G obliged and pulled them on the grass in the front yard. When I got home Friday night, all they talked about was snow and sleds. Their wish came true and we got our first snow yesterday.

All I can say is Jay picked a great time to head to Dallas for a conference. He keeps telling me that it's cloudy there, as if that's any consolation for a wet, heavy, back-breaking driveway full of snow. Actually I enjoy getting fresh air and hanging out with Bryn and Henry but man, was the snow an armload..... They were a little miffed when they started walking in the snow and continued to fall since it had a crunchy top on it, and of course they weren't wearing mittens (do any kids wear them?). I carried them over to the garage where they sat and played with their sand toys. That only lasted for so long until I had to find something else to keep them busy. This is what I saw from my vantage point at the bottom of the driveway.

After I finally made some headway, they joined me at the end of the driveway and pulled each other in the sleds. I have to admit that I wondered why we put in such a long, wide driveway as we inched our way towards the garage.

We did take breaks and head into the neighborhood with Finn chasing after us. They ordered me to run while pulling them in the sleds down this street. When we got too this end and I couldn't run any further they jumped out and ran with the sleds themselves. A couple neighbors stopped their work and watched them go, it was pretty cute.
