Arb adventures

Since Jay was off getting our walnut logs turned into boards, Kristi, John and I loaded our kids in stroller and headed for the Arboretum. The highlight was finding a huge Tom turkey which started off a chain of "Gobble, gobble or bobble, bobble" that lasted most of the hike. They marched with sticks held high, found pine needle "pom poms" and enjoyed the trails. In the black and white pic above you will never guess what they were searching for under the leaves........... baby turkeys!!

Little Abbey took Henry down with her hugs.

The before and after pics of the walnut tree. I really do have a fondness for the tree now that it's gone. Hopefully someday we will make some sweet pieces of furniture with plenty of stories to tell. Here it is as it stood next to our driveway the morning of it's demise.

Here is Jay posing by one of the three trunk sections at the sawmill.

Bringing it back home again..........
