In May we headed to Minnesota for my cousin Luke's wedding (can't believe I didn't take a single picture!) and then headed further north to St. Cloud to see Allison, Mia, Aunt Jen and Uncle Shawn. We had fun reading books, playing in their basement playroom, going swimming in the warm Y pool and checking out their new house lot!

We also got to see Jen, 8 months pregnant, get all fancied up to chaperone the high school prom! So cute!

On our way home, we saw some signs for Pepin, home of the original Little House in the Big Woods. Seeing that the kids have enjoyed hearing about Laura, Mary and Carrie's adventures in the late 1800's, we decided to take the detour and check it out. Although the original log cabin is long gone, a volunteer group built a replica on the land once owned by the Ingalls. Below is Henry looking out the log cabin window. He swears he saw a strand of Mary's blond hair in the fireplace and couldn't stop talking about it.

Our fam, posing for a picture outside the log cabin. Most of the "woods" has since been turned to farmland but the view is beautiful.

Had to stretch our legs along the shores of the Mississippi, thinking that Laura did the same thing MANY years ago.

I postcard in the log cabin of one of my favorite Laura Ingalls Wilder quotes.
