Mother's Day surprise

We surprised my mom for Mother's Day this year. The best surprise is that my dad actually kept his lips sealed and didn't tell her, which is nearly impossible for a guy that can't keep a secret! I parked the car down the street and we waited until she came out of the woods to run up and surprise her, the kids thought it was pretty exciting.






My parents have a woods full of dead branches and sticks so we decided to build ourselves a fort that we can work on when we are up there. I remember doing the same thing when we used to head to Prentice to see my grandparents and it brings back great memories.

Bryn even borrowed clippers and was trimming any tiny tree shoots that were in our way to building our fort. Once the frame was up the kids started adding grasses, leaves and christmas tree boughs to make it more private!

Then the blankets and pillows were hauled outside to try their luck at sleeping in the new house!


We can't wait to get back up to Suamico to work on the fort some more.
